About us
Back in the early 70’s when
some of us remember power cuts and the three day week, a group
of like-minded people met in the Lounge of the Chase Inn near
Hartshill with a view to starting a local show.
The founder members had a
location and some equipment. What they didn’t have they worked
hard to get with sponsorship mainly from the parents of pony-mad
children.
More than 35 years later the
club is still going strong, albeit at a new location and with a
different committee but the ethic remains the same – the club is
run for its members and prides itself on its family friendly
atmosphere with all ages and abilities catered for.
There are the “usual”
showjumping and showing classes, mini jumping (from a couple of
inches high if you wish), barrel jumping (great fun), handy
pony, working hunter, dressage and, one of our favourites, the
gymkhana. Visiting judges have been impressed with the friendly
atmosphere and, of course, the standards.
Everyone works hard to ensure
that members are given help, advice and encouragement and our
members all help and support one another.
From toddlers to grannies, we
welcome you all!
Hello and welcome to the 2009
season
We have made a few changes for this year and we hope these meet
with your approval.
Reviewing last years shows and listening to our members we have
changed the format of the clear round and the start times in the
showjumping
ring as well as moving the In Hand Showing class to the start
of the day. We hope these changes will improve the show and help
members but, as ever, we are always ready to listen.
This year sees our fourth year of support of the MIDARC
championships,
and following the great success of our members last year, we
have two
qualifiers scheduled. We also continue to hold qualifiers for
the Shires
jumping championships at all shows through to the end of August.
You may notice that there has been
a slight increase in membership fees
this year. This is to allow the show to continue the investment
in new
equipment for all classes. We have already purchased some and
will
continue to purchase new equipment to replace worn out items and
to
make the show better and safer for all our members.
We need your support to keep
the show going and we like to see all the
family taking part, but most importantly having fun and
enjoying your
hobby without the pressure of some of the bigger shows. Of
course we
can’t please everyone, but we hope you’ll like what you see on
show day.
We are open to new ideas and
suggestions, and if you would like to make
a suggestion of what you would like to see at future events or
at the show,
please give your suggestion to one of the committee members on
show
days or e-mail us at:
info@hartshillshow.co.uk
or call the show mobile on
07528 760604.

committee of Hartshill Riding Club.
